Kissing the Face of God

The first time I encountered Morgan Weistling's artwork was in 1999 on a magazine cover showcasing his oil painting, "Kissing the Face of God." Instantly, I knew that if I could paint like anyone, it would be him. Fast forward 10 years, and having had the incredible opportunity to study with Morgan, I had the privilege of sculpting an image of Jesus as a child and his mother, Mary.

Mary held the privilege of cradling God in her arms. This sculpture captures the beautiful paradox of a mother cuddling and kissing her baby, who is also God in the flesh.

The artwork represents how God chose to send His son into the world to take away our sins—a truly amazing gift for all who are open to receiving it(Him).
